Ella Reid (b.2001) is a South African artist living and working in London. Her practice encompasses painting, printmaking and ceramics rooted in an evolving dialogue with the natural world.

My work begins in the landscape, where found organic materials and imagery culminate in pieces that embody a personal response and connection to place. Compositions surface intuitively, drawing on the symmetry between the natural world and the human body. These blending forms reflect the synergy and interconnectedness woven through all living things. Earth itself has become a central focus both as material and metaphor, opening themes of the cyclical, transformation and transcendence that this rich material imbues.

I work predominantly with handmade paints using clays and ochers sourced from various landscapes I have encountered, both in South Africa and the UK. This process is central to my practice, minimising the separation between the artist, landscape and material. The resulting works speak to the intimate relationship between the physical and metaphysical, grounding spiritual reflection in natural matter.
